teachers in the use of technology are essential to the effective use of technology in the classroom. Educational technology is a broad category that includes both a wide range of electronic devices and. the applications that deliver content and support learning. Technology is an essential tool for learning.   Along with the benefits of using technology in the classroom, there are downsides that must be managed. When teaching using technology, instructors must be aware of the potential hindrances technology can bring to the learning process. Some negative effects of technology in today’s classroom are that it can take away valuable learning.

Technology offers tremendous promise for student learning and has ignited the imagination of those who are interested in bringing about revolutionary gains in the achievement of all students. Yet the use of technology in education also raises a whole host of challenges, including those related to cost-effectiveness, teacher professional development, assessment, equity, and safety.   Technology can enhance teaching and learning by: Providing extended access to materials; Providing multiple material types for all learning styles; Enhancing communication between faculty/student and student/student; Promoting constructivist and active learning; Enhancing collaborative teaching and learning.

Technology should not be separate from content area learning but used to transform and expand pre- and in-service learning as an integral part of teacher learning. Use technology to provide all learners with online access to effective teaching and better learning opportunities with options in places where they are not otherwise available. Commonwealth of Learning; SchoolNet South Africa (Commonwealth of Learning, Canada, ) Course Material: The Commonwealth Certificate for Teacher ICT Integration (CCTI) has been developed to improve teachers’ experience teaching in the classroom using a range of information and communication technologies (ICT).

The Office of Digital Learning & Innovation (DLI) provides support for the integration of technology in teaching and learning.

Their website includes how-to guides, instructional resources and a blog. They also offer a Hybrid Course Development Institute for faculty looking to replace some face-to-face instruction with increased online teaching.

Conclusions: • The fusion of great teaching practice with technology-rich environments results in much higher reporting of success • The frequent use of active learning practices relates strongly to success • SEL skills are becoming more prioritized than standardized tests by many in the education sphere.

Use digital resources well: Schools can use digital resources in a variety of ways to support teaching and learning. Electronic grade books, digital portfolios, learning games, and real-time feedback on teacher and student performance, are a few ways that technology can be utilized to power learning.

The modern classroom has taken several steps forward in its evolution of the learning environment in the past 25 years. Many of the benefits that we have seen in this setting are due to the introduction of new technology options for students.

Instead of having a single computer for a class to use or a laboratory environment for the entire school placed in one room, we can now help students. technology, teaching and learning is not only happening in the school environment, but also can happen even if teachers and students are physically in distance.

However, ICT integration is not a one-step learning process, but it is a continual process of learning that provides proactive teaching-learning environment (Young, ). The Benefits of Using Technical Devices in Lessons. M any teachers confirmed that the use of technical devices such as tablets or whiteboards has increased the engagement of young pupils in lessons in their classrooms.

Additionally, technology gives teachers the ability to design unique learning. In the Colonial years, wooden paddles with printed lessons, called Horn-Books, were used to assist students in learning verses. Over years later, intechnology advanced to include the Magic Lantern, a primitive version of a slide projector that projected images printed on glass plates.

1) Active engagement with the learning material. Technology is interactive, and students learn by doing, researching, and receiving feedback.

This helps students become passionate about what they are learning. For example, they may study geography using interactive software such as Google Maps or Google Earth, instead of looking at a picture.

Educational technology has three do-mains of use: • Technology as a tutor (computer gives instructions and guides the user), • Technology as a teaching tool and • Technology as a learning tool. Depending on the use and benefits, the research by Lowther et al., () suggests that education technology.
