I have to give this book 5 stars, because reading it served my intended purpose. I needed a quick overview of the "upstream" portion of the oil & gas industry. This book did just that. It is written in a very organized outline form, and with just the right amount of /5(19).

The book gives a valuable overview of the oil and gas pipelines. Oil has been used for lighting purposes for many thousand years. In areas where oil is found in shallow reservoirs, seeps of crude oil or gas may naturally develop, and some oil could simply be collected from seepage or tar ponds.

The petrophysical rock core contains gas or oil which are used as fuel as for energy source. This book describes the petroleum industry, in easy-to-understand language, for both the layperson and engineer alike. From the economics of searching for oil and gas to the pitfalls of drilling and production, getting it out of the ground, into pipelines, into refineries, and, finally, into your gas tank, this book covers the petroleum.
